about

This EP is about uncertainty. Each song in its own way tackles a core question or concern that can't quite be answered by the narrators in these tunes. Some concerns are massive in scope; some are small. The concrete nature of mathematics provided a perfect foil to these tunes about not knowing; there is a certainty in math, the likes of which we rarely experience outside the world of numbers. (Descartes' famous issuance of certainty, "I think, therefore I am" comes to mind and gives the EP its name.) That tension is explored here.

Track Name: Equations
When I was born, I didn't know
I didn't know what it would take
When I was born, I didn't know
I didn't know what it would take

And oh,
It takes all that I am

When I met you, I didn't know what it would take
When I met you, I didn't know what it would take

And oh,
It takes all that I am

Now we're here, and now I know
Now I know what it will take

And oh,
It takes patience and faith
